In a partnership with West Somerset Railway Association, JLT initially developed the site installing new turning triangle and platform for steam trains and Network Rail.
Network Rail currenlty import used rail ballast as part of their HOBC track restorations. JLT now process the imported rail ballast into certified products for sale on the open market, such as 803t1, 20mm, 14mm, 10mm and 6mm chipping. These 100% recycled products are currenlty supplied to Tarmac for tar plants, as well as other local and major companies.
The site at Norton Fitzwarren won a merit award in 2007 from the Institute of Civil Engineers for its construction and design.
